Roger Federer remains in the #1 spot – Cincinnati 2012

Since I was not able to see the match live, I can not say many things on this match, but I can tell one thing. Federer won.

The first set was unbelievable. Roger Federer did not allow the world number 2, Novak Djokovic, to take one game at all. Djokovic served poorly with some double-faults, allowing Federer to get some easy breaks and whatnot. However, Djokovic stood up again in the second set, where both players were equally balanced which eventually lead to a tie-breaker. Though the one to take the set was Roger Federer with a game count of 6-0, 7-6(7), winning his 5th Cincinnati title. If you would like to go deeper into this match, there is a perfect article for you which can be viewed by clicking here. Roger Federer remains in the number one spot until at least the US Open, which is coming up next Monday.

Lets take a rough guess on who will win the US Open. I would say Djokovic or Federer, because it seems like Nadal won’t be entering the US Open this year. Of course, everyone would choose those two players for the finalists, but it’s really hard to predict who will actually win the US Open title.

I’ll post my prediction once the US Open semi-finals are over.
