Andy Roddick wins Atlanta Finals 2012

Andy Roddick defeated Gilles Muller, 1-6, 7-6(2), and 6-2. Andy Roddick won his 32nd singles title, and he will be number 22 in the world rankings. Fun fact: Did you know that Andy Roddick’s first three singles titles were from Atlanta, Washington, and Huston in 2001?

The match lasted for 2 hours and 13 minutes. The shocking part of this match was that Gilles Muller served 10 double faults. If he didn’t do as much, he might of have gotten a chance to win. Andy hit 18 aces while Gilles hit 20. The surprising thing is that both players won 50% of the total points that were played! In total, 170 points were played, and both players achieved 85 points out of the 170. Very unusual.

Andy Roddick and Gilles Muller are both 29 years old, and Roddick turned pro one year earlier than Muller. However, Andy has 32 titles while Muller has none.

Anyways, congratulations to Andy for winning his 32nd singles title!
