Atlanta Tennis Championships – Semi Finals Results & Finals Precition

John Isner has been defeated by Andy Roddick with a score of 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 in the semi finals of the Atlanta Tennis Championships! Andy Roddick is one of my most favorite players, mostly because of his unique tennis form and his humor.

John Isner took 26 shot aces from Andy Roddick, while Andy only had 7. John Isner’s first serve went in with a percentage of 64%, as for Andy Roddick, his first serve percentage was 65%. What was amazing about this match is that Andy Roddick had 7 break chances in total, and was  able to take 2. (Both from set 1 and set 3.) However, as for John Isner, Andy Roddick only allowed two break points on his service game, and was able to defend it. John Isner won 90 points out of 191, and Andy Roddick won 101 out of 191 points, resulting in the victory of number 4 seed Andy Roddick. In the other semi finals, Gilles Muller defeated seed number 8 Go Soeda from Japan with a score of 6-4 and 6-3. Kei Nishikori(JPN), who was seeded 3rd, was expected to advance onto the semis until Go Soeda(JPN) defeated him in the quarter finals which was a very surprising result. However, Soeda’s strive ended quick as he was defeated by Gilles Muller which denied him to advance onto the finals. Andy Roddick will be facing Gilles Muller in the Atlanta Tennis Championships finals.

Andy Roddick defeated Gilles Muller 3 months ago in the 2nd round of the Miami ATP 1000 event, with a score of 6-3, 6-2, so I predict that Andy Roddick will be able to win this tournament’s finals easily. Though, I do think that Muller will be able to get more games from Andy, so there is a possibility that Andy will loose one set.

As for number 2 seed Mardy Fish, he retired from a sprained ankle in the 2nd round against Gilles Muller, though he was winning 6-4, 2-3. I hope that the injury isn’t serious, or he may not be able to participate in the olympics, just like Rafael Nadal.
